Wanis was honoured to be invited to Number 10 Downing Street’s festive celebration, where the Prime Minister, joked that it would be nice to “make everything brighter” with just a click of a button” as he switched on the Christmas lights in the most famous street in England.
Wanis Managing Director, Sanjay Wadhwani and Head of Community Paul Harrison had the opportunity meet the Prime Minister and other government ministers and witness the switching on of the Christmas lights in the most famous street in England. They were amongst around 100 invited guests from across business, charity, and community groups at the annual Festive Winter showcase which transforms Downing Street into a Christmas market with stalls showcasing products from British businesses. Christmas carols, including Joy to the World, were played by the London Community Gospel Choir and a military band.
Paul said: “It was wonderful to be part of a small group of people invited to the fair this year’s festivities to celebrate the excellence and diversity of Britain’s entrepreneurial excellence and community spirit.”
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said: “Christmas is a very special time of the year where family and friends near and far come together to make new memories, share good food and give thanks. I am delighted to welcome some fantastic small businesses, charities, and local communities to Downing Street to mark this special occasion and celebrate the joy of Christmas.” Before returning back inside No 10, the Prime Minister spoke to stallholders and posed for photos with guests.
